Polka Mojo

Hey everyone! Welcome to another week! There's a new mojo sketch over on the Mojo Monday blog today, so hop on over to check it out. Here's my interpretation of the sketch...

I stamped and embossed the handbag from Express Yourself twice on Barely Banana, then colored with a Copic marker, before trimming one out and popping up over the one on the banana circle panel. The circles were cut with Classic and Scallop nestabilities, then embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder and sponged with barely banana ink.

The rectangles are cut with Scallop Rectangles Nestabilities, and I embossed the sentiment and flourish in black, then sponged around the edges with barley banana. The background is melon mambo and is stamped with the polka dot background from Bountiful Backgrounds. To finish, I added a little polka dot ribbon and some tiny black rhinestones, then a few little accents with a spica glitter pen on the handbag.

What's In It?
Stamps: Express Yourself, Bountiful Backgrounds (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Melon Mambo, Barely Banana, Basic Black (SU!)
Ink: Melon Mambo, Barely Banana (SU!), Onyx Black (Versafine), Copic & Spica pens
Accessories: ribbon, Scallop and Classic Circles and Rectangles (nestabilities), rhinestones, clear embossing powder, sponge

Little Round Things

Hey all! Happy Friday! Amber's on vacation this week, so I'm filling in for her as this week's Viva la Verve hostess. Here's the sketch and my {twist} for the week is to use little round things. Brads, beads, buttons, pearls, rhinestones, dew drops, punches, eyelets - there are so many fun little things you can add! I hope you have fun with it! For those of you new to Viva la Verve!, if you participate in all of the Friday VLV challenges during the month, you're entered in a drawing to win our next entire Verve release! This is the first sketch for September, so you've got a fresh start!

The sketch was inspired by my desire to showcase this cool border punch I picked up at Michael's the other day. It's by EK success and I just love the little scallop curves to it. I had these colors on my desk from some previous projects, so I just went with it. The flower is from the Budding Blossoms set and are cut and embossed with the Nestabilities long rectangles. I then stponged some soft sky and kiwi kiss along the edges for the grass and sky.

The sentiment is from the A Cup of Life set and is framed with a metal frame from the Styled Vanilla Hardware kit by SU! I added a white taffeta bow, then accented with a quilting pin I beaded up with pearls and used an earring back as a stopper. Then I covered with two Martha Stewart butterfly punches (one painted with Shabby Shutters crackle paint and then inked with Kiwi Kiss.

The final touches were some dazzling diamonds and diamond glaze on the flower buds and a trio of dew drops up top. Okay, that's it for today. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

No Mystery

Hi all! I can't believe how fast this month has gone! It's already the fourth and final week of the August Viva la Verve! challenges. If you're playing along and want a chance at our entire September release, you need to have all four of your cards uploaded and linked to the Champions thread in our forum by Thursday, August 27 at Midnight CST.

With a full week of release sketches followed by a full week of mojo sketches, I haven't gotten to do any of the VLV sketches yet, so this morning I sat down to try out the current sketch {VLVAUG04}. The {twist} for this week is to use your favorite color combo. Well, I think it's no mystery that although I'm a girl of many colors, I have quite a passion for aqua and brown.

So I pulled out some of my beloved Soft Sky cardstock and stamped the fleur de lis background from Bountiful Backgrounds in Soft Sky, then on Kraft with Vintage Photo Distress ink. These panels are matted with chocolate chip and stitched with my sewing machine. For the oval panel, I used a classic oval nestabilities die to cut and stencil the sponging. Next I embossed the sentiment from Bountiful Backgrounds in Chocolate Chip Craft ink and matted on a scallop oval. The two flowers are from Kaiser Craft and I layered them with a Making Memories brad then added crystal stickles and cinnamon stickles to the respective flowers and tucked a brown shimmer flourish chipboard piece from Making Memories behind it all. I finished up with a chocolate taffeta bow and a few more cinnamon stickles accents on the scallops.

What's In It?
Stamps: Bountiful Backgrounds (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip (SU!), Classic Cream (Neenah)
Ink: Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip craft (SU!), Vintage Photo (Ranger)
Accessories: Classic & Scallop Ovals (Nestabilities), sewing machine (Janome), Cinnamon & Crystal Stickles (Ranger), paper flowers (Kaiser Craft), chipboard and brad (Making Memories)

Mojo Hospitality

Hello! Welcome to another week! Today we're back to our regularly schedule once a week mojo posts and I'm looking forward to a week of unscripted creating! Hooray! Be sure to hop on over to the Mojo blog to see this week's sketch and all the beautiful cards from the mojo team.

The Verve Project Parade kicks off today, too. This month's theme is Happiness for Hostesses, and I can't wait to see all the hostess gifts and cards the Divas will be sharing over the next few weeks. Tune in each weekday, and be sure to play along for a chance to win!

In keeping with the hostess theme, I made today's mojo card with the Romans 12:13 plain jane that just released. I stamped the verse and one of the flower duos from Budding Blossoms with Chocolate Chip Craft ink and embossed in clear. Next I colored the flowers with Copic markers, sponged around the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink and then cut out one extra flower and popped up on the side. The papers are all from the Rustic stack by DCWV and are sponged, stitched and matted with chocolate chip. The bottom layer is pumpkin pie, also sponged and stitched, then I added some wide satin ribbon, orange peel stickles, chocolate pearls and a Tim Holtz photo corner for accent. The finished card measures 5.25" square.

What's In It?
Stamp: Romans 12:13 Plain Jane, Budding Blossoms (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie (SU!), Rustic Stack (DCWV)
Ink: Chocolate Chip Craft (SU!), Vintage Photo (Ranger Distress), Copic markers
Accessories: sewing machine, orange peel stickles, photo corner (Tim Holtz), chocolate pearls (Kaiser Craft), chocolate satin ribbon (SU!)

The Perfect Blend

Happy Sunday! Today's the last day of our Mojo Turns 100 celebration and today's sketch was designed by Mary Fish. Be sure to check out the mojo blog for the sketch, because I kind of strayed a little.

I don't know if it was just wanting to take a little creative liberty after a week of following sketches or just laziness because I couldn't find my square punches that made me decide to substitute circles. I do love the modern look they give, though. Sorry about the glare on the photo - the embossing and wet stickles gave me fits when I was photographing, but I'm not motivated enough to go take more pics! LOL

I punched out all the circles from Cameo Coral and Chocolate Chip, then lined them up on my Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls folder and embossed them. I also dry embossed the main cream layer, then heat embossed the Coffee & Friends stamp from Delightful & Delicious with Chocolate Chip Craft ink and clear embossing powder. A few rectangle Nestabilities mats, some brown & cream polka dot ribbon and some diamond Stickles accents on the swirls and cup and the card was done. Easy peasey!

Rustic Saturday

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a great start to your weekend! Today we have another sketch posted on the mojo blog for our Mojo Turns 100 Celebration. Janette Olen designed today's sketch and it's a fun one, so be sure to check it out.

I was thumbing through the Rustic Stack by DCWV and saw this pretty paper with flowers that reminded me of the ones in Miracles Blossom, so I had to pull it out and play. The vines in the paper were a little more wispy, so I chose to pair the Miracles Blossom flowers with the stem from the new Budding Blossoms set.
The hardest part of the card was getting the colors right. The flowers in the paper are sort of a mauve and after trying regal rose, cameo coral, worn lipstick and one other shade of pink, I finally settled on Bravo Burgundy to stamp the flower and a layering of a pink and lavender Copic to color it in. Everything is sponged with a layer of Old Paper and then Vintage Photo Ranger Distress Ink. The sage shadow and chocolate chip layers are punched with an EK Success border punch, then I added some piercing accents and a chocolate taffeta bow.

The sentiment is from the Party Time set and is punched out with the SU! 1.25" circle punch. I accented with one of my new brown shimmer flourishes from Making Memories.

I hope you've been having fun with our mojo sketches this week! We've got one more tomorrow and then we'll be back to our normal weekly sketches.

Party Time Mojo

Can you believe it's already Friday? This week has zoomed by!!! Today there's another Mojo Turns 100 sketch over on the mojo blog and this one's another sketch by Teresa.

I hadn't had a chance to use my Party Time set yet, and I've been dying to try these balloons as Chinese lanterns so that was my starting point for the card. Yesterday my order from Ellen Hutson for the new Spica glitter pens came and boy, oh, boy do I love the Black Soot pen! Eeek! The lanterns just shimmer.

I just love the elegance of black & white (cream) cards for birthdays, so I pulled out my La Creme mat stack by DCWV and cut some flocked circles with nesties. Since my balloons were striped I chose to use this gorgeous black & white striped ribbon from SU! I had planned to stamp the sentiment in the corner of my rectangle, but the bow was so huge, I had to add another circle panel for the sentiment to the card. I finished with some rounded corners, piercing details, rhinestones on the scallops and sponging around all the cream panels.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a great weekend. The girls will be posting more mojo sketches this weekend, too - so if you haven't had a chance to play yet, you won't miss out! :)

Hybrid Makes Me Happy

Well, it's been a while since I've done a hybrid Thursday, and I sure miss them. This week this Butterflies in Heaven digi kit just called my name. I tried to resist, saying I was too busy, but I just kept dreaming in aqua and purple with these awesome butterflies, so I quit fighting and started creating! Since it's Thursday, all new releases are 20% off at The Digichick Boutique, so if this kit is now calling YOUR name, you can pick it up at a discount!

The card uses today's Mojo celebration sketch, which was designed by Sarah Bigelow. Sarah's got a little blog candy on her blog today to celebrate her sketch, so be sure to check it out. The circles are cut with Classic & Scallop Nestabilities, then I used the nestie as a stencil to sponge Broken China distress ink all around the inner circle. The sentiment is from the Dare to Be You set. All of the butterflies and papers (except the Elegant Eggplant mats) are from the Butterflies in Heaven Collab. I sponged the edges of all the layers for depth and then added some lace, ribbons and rhinestones.

The adorable little box is made with the Top-Heavy Box Template included in Kelleigh's August Grab Bag. I am in love with the shape of this box, and you know I couldn't resist this aqua paper included in the collab. It's all printed and cut out and sponged with Broken China. The sentiment is from the Beautiful Kindness set.

Okay, that's it for now, peeps. Hybrid really does make me happy and I hope it brightened your day too! Thanks for stopping by!

Simply Amazing!

Already Wednesday? Sheesh! The week is flying by! It's day 3 of the Mojo Turns 100 Celebration and today's sketch was designed by Teresa Kline. She's got a little blog candy over on her blog today, so be sure to hop on over there!

I knew I wanted to use this image from the Budding Blossoms set that I hadn't had a chance to stamp with yet, so I embossed it with clear EP and Craft Chocolate Chip ink. I made a tiny little smudge, so I dusted off my little air art tool from SU! and added some more speckles to camouflage my boo-boo. The leaves are colored with Copic markers, then I used a classic square nestabilities die as a stencil to sponge Soft Sky ink around the edges.

The sentiment tab is created using my new QuicKutz Nesting Labels dies and I embossed a sentiment from Bountiful Backgrounds in Chocolate Chip and added a few dew drops. I pulled this scrap of DP from the pile. I think it's last year's Alpine Christmas paper from SU! Since I wanted a reedsy/woodsy feel, I chose Kraft as my other color and embossed with a cuttlebug folder. The horizontal panel is run through my paper crimper, then I sponged the edges of both panels with Vintage Photo ink.

I finished off with a little chocolate chip grosgrain, some Lime Green Stickles and a photo corner punch to balance things out.

The Goodness of Life

Hi all! It's Tuesday and today we're continuing our Mojo Turns 100 Celebration with a special sketch designed by Maria Gurnsey. Be sure to hop on over to the mojo blog for the sketch.

Aside from a brief 15 minute project this weekend, I haven't had a chance to stamp for over a week and I was so READY to get back to my studio last night. Laurie sent me these awesome Nesting Labels cookie cutter dies from Quickutz and I've been so excited to play with them. I ran the die through with cream and chocolate card stock, so I could have a little mat. Next up, I knew I wanted a warm, distressed feel with lots of sponging, so I stamped the scrolly background from Bountiful Backgrounds in Champagne VersaMark and then sponged all around the edges with first Antique Linen and then Vintage Photo distress ink. I'm not sure you can see it in the photo so I've added a little close-up. I just love the way the versamark lightly resists the ink for a subtle pattern in the sponging.

Next I stamped the coffee mug from Delightful & Delicious on cream in Riding Hood Red ink and colored with a Ruby Red marker and Vintage Photo ink. I added the little flourish from the A Cup of Life set for the steam, then cut out, popped up and added Cinnamon Stickles and a coat of Diamond Glaze for a glossy look. The sentiment from Delightful & Delicious is stamped in Vintage Photo ink.

After I'd finished with the panel, I set a jumbo eyelet in one end and threaded the wide striped chocolate ribbon through. The chocolate, riding hood red, and cream panels are all letterpress ink debossed with the Cuttlebug Textile folder and Vintage Photo ink. I added a little more sponging to the edges of each panel to add some depth. Then I just glued everything together and added a few pearls to the top and bottom. They seemed a little too white, so I colored them with a Copic marker and called it done!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a fabulous day!

Thinking of You Mojo

Welcome to the start of another week! Monday morning means Mojo Time, but this week every morning will be mojo time as the Mojo team celebrates our 100th challenge with daily sketches. Wow! I've been doing this 100 weeks! Can you believe it? Today's sketch is my own, but the rest of the sketches this week have come from the Mojo DT, and they look SO fun! I hope to get to play every day!

Today's card features one of the newly release Verve sets called Enjoy. It's a small, but very versatile set that has quickly stolen my heart. I wanted a different color combination, so I pulled out this saffron damasky digi paper from the Pish Posh kit by Sarah Jones and paired it with SU!'s Rich Razzleberry.

Since I wanted to use the flower from this set, I decided to add in a little Old Olive, and I really like how the combo turned. The flower is stamped then stamped again and popped up, then coated with diamond glaze and glitter for some sparkle. I added some piercing accents with my mat pack and paper piercer. The sentiment is stamped in Versafine onyx black, then I made a little ribbon feature with razzleberry polka dot ribbon and some primas.

What's In It?
Stamps: Enjoy (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry (SU!), Pish Posh digi papers (Sarah Jones)
Ink: Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Barely Banana, So Saffron (SU!), Onyx Black (VF)
Accessories: Mat Pack, polka dot ribbon, paper piercer, button and scallop edge punch (All SU!), glitter, diamond glaze, scallop circle nestabilities.

My Cup of Tea

I've had this little teabag holder project in my head since I was designing the A Cup of Life set a few months ago, but I just didn't have time to try it out before release. I needed a little sanity break from packing orders, so whipped this up in about 15 minutes. Here's what I did:

  • Cut 8.5 x 3.25" strip of cardstock
  • Scored at 1.5, 4.5 and 5.5" inches
Embossed with textile background folder, then sponged edges
  • Used decorative border punch on the 1.5" end
  • Punched a 1/16" hole through the top center for the string
Stamped images from A Cup of Life in Crimson red, sponged with Vintage Photo
  • Glued image to holder
Added ridinghood red ribbon and bow across top
  • Stapled Tea tag to red hemp twine

Tonight's the Night!

Hey everybody! TGIF! Our Anni-VERVE-sary release party is almost here! We'll be kicking off things TONIGHT {Friday, 8/14} over on the Release Party thread in the Verve forum. Everyone's invited - we just have a grand old time chatting, sharing DT projects and posting reveals of the new sets throughout the party. Oh, and we'll be announcing the winners of our Anni-VERVe-sary sketch challenges, Diva Giveaway threads, and Sneak Preview Giveaways. You've still got until 6:00pm ET tonight to enter most of the giveaways, so if you haven't already, what are ya waiting for? :)

Today's sneak peeks are with Delightful & Delicious, a coffee themed set and A Cup Of Life, a tea themed set. I chose to work with Delightful & Delicious because what's not to love about coffee? After all, it's the best part of waking up, right? I made my card for today when I was staying at Laurie's, sipping coffee and shootin' the breeze. Somehow just being there pulled me out of the creative funk I was in and this card just fell together so effortlessly.

I started by cutting and layering shapes cut from the Black & Ivory Fusion collection I keep using. All panels are sponged with a little Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Ranger Distress Ink. For the coffee cup circle, I stamped the Coffee word lightly with Old Paper Ranger Distress Ink for a subtle background, then stamped the steam in Vintage Photo. the coffee mug is stamped in chocolate chip, colored with copics, trimmed out and popped up for some dimension.

Since there were so many panels, I decided to make a 5.25" square card. To add another layer without adding bulk, I decided to use a stamped background to divide my kraft panel, so I stamped the fleur de lis background from Bountiful Backgrounds in Vintage Photo, leaving the bottom third unstamped and sectioned off with a polka dot bow. I added the you're so sweet sentiment in the corner, then glued a thin little scallop border to the bottom and accented with a white gel pen.

Okay, that's it for now. Hope to "see" you tonight at the release party!

So Fabulous

Happy Thurssday! Wow! This week is flying by! Today is Day 3 of Sneak Previews over on the Verve blog, so be sure to head on over there for another chance to win and to see what the gals have cooked up with the Budding Blossoms and Enjoy sets.

My card for today uses the AVS04 Sketch from the Anni-VERVE-sary challenges. The flower image is from the Budding Blossoms set and the sentiment is from Bountiful Backgrounds. I used paper from the Black & Ivory Fusion collection by K & Company and embellished with some wide black grosgrain and some itty bitty rhinestones.

Don't forget to check out the Verve SCS forum for giveaway threads posted by all of our Divas.

Simply Amazing

Happy Wednesday! Today is Day 2 of Sneak Previews over on the Verve blog, so be sure to head on over there for another chance to win and to see what the gals have cooked up with Bountiful Backgrounds and Party Time sets.

My card for today uses one of the sentiments included in the Bountiful Backgrounds set and the AVS203 Sketch from the Anni-VERVE-sary sketches. I paired it with the flourishes from the Express Yourself set and then cut the flower from this beautiful Tiffany's Collection designer paper by We R Memory Keepers. This was a pretty simple card. I mainly just let the paper do most of the work, added a little fleur de lis punched border, some twill ribbon and a bit of bling.

Be sure to check out the Verve forum today for more fun giveaway threads by the Divas!

Peeking Express Yourself

Happy Tuesday! Did y'all get a chance to play in the Divas' giveaway threads yesterday? Well, most of them are still open, plus there will be a few new ones posted today, so don't miss out! Today is also the first day of Sneak Previews over on the Verve blog, so be sure to head on over there for another chance to win and to see what the gals have cooked up with Express Yourself.

I chose to work with one of the flourishes and the title sentiment from Express Yourself for my preview. I've paired these with the Anni-VERVE-sary 202 sketch and my favorite Everafter papers by Cosmo Cricket.

The orange DP is embossed with Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder and then sanded for a little emphasis. The ovals are done with the Classic & Scallop Oval Nestabilities. For the focal panel, I first stamped the flourish on either edge in Tangerine Tango, then overstamped with clear VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Iridescent Ice. I just love the elegant sparkle it adds. You can see it a little better in the close-up (especially if you do a little clicksy to embiggen it). I then stamped the flourish again in the open areas with Soft Sky to form a little border, then stamped the sentiment in the center with Basic Gray ink. I added a little Soft Sky sponging around the edges, layered with lots of dimensionals and white mats, then finished off with two taffeta knotted bows.

What's In It?
Stamps: Express Yourself (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Everafter (Cosmo Cricket)
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Soft Sky (SU!), VersaMark (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Iridescent Ice EP, white taffeta (SU!), Swiss Dots (Cuttlebug), Classic & Scallop Ovals (Nestabilities), sanding block

Mojo Thoughts

Happy Monday! Today's the start of our Anni-VERVE-sary release week challenges over on SCS, so be sure to click here to get the sketches. It's also Mojo Monday, so be sure to head on over there to see what the Mojo Makers have done with this week's sketch! Oh, and I announced this month's fabulous Guest Divas this morning too, so check that out over on the Verve Blog. Whew! I'm worn out from all that blogging! LOL

My mojo card features the Urban Garden DSP from SU! and a sentiment from Circular Sayings. The inspiration from this layout actually came from the inside of a card I made a while ago. I was just using leftover scraps and liked how they came together, so I turned it into a sketch. Anyhow, I'll keep it short and let you get clicking on those links above to find out the scoop on the Anni-VERVE-sary happenings.

What's In It?
Stamps: Circular Sayings (Verve)
Paper: Urban Garden DSP, Not Quite Navy (SU!)
Ink: Not Quite Navy (SU!)
Accessories: circle punches (SU!), script cuttlebug folder, Making Memories deco brad, Baja Breeze ribbon (SU!), rhinestones, round-it-all (Zutter)

Fancy Smiles

Happy Friday! Wow, what a week! It seems like every time I've turned around this week there's been another obstacle, another call with sad news, or another setback to make me feel like I'm going backwards instead of forwards. You ever notice that some weeks are like that? So this morning when I woke up and heard the glorious sound of raindrops on the roof, I thought to heck with my mile high to-do list and my overflowing inbox, I'm playing hooky this morning! It's not like the boss will fire me, ya know? LOL

Determined to do something fun with my morning, I headed into my studio for a little stamp therapy. As I've been preparing for our 2 year anni-VERVE-sary release, I've been thinking back to our beginnings, so I pulled out the first 2 sets we release, Fancy Florals and Thoughtful Florals (well, I pulled out the clear versions, not the original rubber). Then I just went with what I had out on my desk.

At the top of my inspiration pile were the sketches Janelle shared in her really cool Anni-VERVE-sary blog hop post. I chose the 12th sketch, mainly because of the slanty panel (you know I love those!) The scraps on my desk were from the Black & Ivory Fusion by K & Company and the Sunsplashed collection from Archiver's, so I chose one of my favorite color combos, aqua and orange to liven up my day. Then it was just a matter of cutting, sponging and stamping and before I knew it my card was done!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I've got to go start my workday now, but I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

What's In It?
Stamps: Fancy Florals Remixed, Thoughtful Florals
Paper: Chocolate Chip (SU!), Classic Cream (Neenah), Black & Ivory Fusion (K & Co), Sunsplashed (WRMK for Archiver's)
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango (SU!), Vintage Photo (Ranger)
Accessories: photo corner (WRMK), orange bling (MAMBI), Tags, Class & Scallop Rectangles (Nestabilities), Aqua Oregon Rainddrops (Pink Hedgehog), Chocolate Taffeta (SU!)

Keep Me in Your Heart

Hey everyone! Due to a stamp release crisis (there always is one), I didn't get the stamping time I thought I would in yesterday, so today I'm showing you a clean & simple (CAS) valentine card I made a few weeks ago. This card was actually the inspiration behind this week's mojo sketch.

As many of you know, my style is usually anything but CAS. But one of the exercises I try when I feel lackluster mojo setting in is to try some different styles that aren't my usual, to remind me just what my style is. So that's what I did a couple weeks ago when I wasn't posting here. And even though this card isn't all blinged to the hilt, I just love how it turned out. There's a not a lot to it, so I'll just leave you with the recipe. Hope you have a fabulous day!

What's In It?
Stamps: Hundred Hearts (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White (SU!), Tahitian Princess (Bazzill Basics)
Ink: Broken China (Ranger Distress), Onyx Black and Crimson Red (Versafine)
Accessories: Labels Three dies (Nestabilities), Real Red Stitched grosgrain (SU!), sponge

Vintage Flowers

Hey everybody! Last night I took a little time to play with Mercy's Tuesday Sketch for this week. Yep, I flipped the sketch again, I guess I can't follow directions. LOL! Since the sketch called for a flower, I knew I wanted to play some more with my new slice, so I pulled out the Noteworthy cartridge and cut a few flowers in different sizes to layer as an embellishment.

The paper I used is from the Black & Ivory Fusion collection by K & Company. Funny, I just realized I didn't use any of the black or ivory designs, just a pale plum and aqua. But I'm just in love with the designs in this collection (especially the black & ivory ones), so I'm sure you'll be seeing more of it. All of my panels are inked with vintage Photo distress ink and I embossed the patterned paper with the Textile embossing folder and then lightly sanded with an emery board to make the texture stand out. Since everything was looking so vintage, I pulled out some Fancy pants lace wraps and wrapped around the card and tied a little bow in front. The flowers are layered on dimensionals and there's a Making Memories deco brad in the center. I painted some diamond glaze/glitter on the aqua flower for just a hint of sparkle and the sentiment is the Flowers of Tomorrow plain jane inked with Baja Breeze ink pad and then I went over the all caps text with a chocolate chip marker for a two-toned ink effect.

That's it for today, peeps. I hope you have a fabulous day. Oh, and the winners of the Anni-VERVE-sary Blog Hop are posted over on the Verve Blog this morning! Catch ya on the flipside!

What's in it?
Stamps: Flowers of Tomorrow Plain Jane (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Black & Ivory Fusion (K & Co), Kraft (SU!)
Ink: Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip (SU!), Vintage Photo (Ranger Distress)
Accessories: Textile embossing folder (Cuttlebug), Noteworthy Cartridge for Slice , Deco brads (Making Memories), glitter, diamond glaze, Lace Wraps (Fancy Pants), emery board, sponge

Fleur de Lis Thanks

Hey everybody! I hope you had a wonderful start to your week. Mercy's back with her weekly Tuesday sketches on her blog! Hooray! I'm a little behind, so my card actually uses last week's sketch {MTSC32}. But be sure to check out this week's sketch here. I already had the fleur de lis oval piece stamped, cut and matted from a previous project that didn't work out, so I decided to flip the sketch to make it work.

I drew my colors from the Tiffany's collection by We R Memory Keepers and cut and matted my pieces with Chocolate Chip. I added a little shading with a sponge and Melonberry Mambo ink to all the pink panels and stamped and added a little sentiment piece with the curvy label punch and the thanks sentiment from Circular Sayings. All the fleur de lis come from the Kindred Spirits set, and I used a Copic marker to lightly shade around the dotted circle and inner fleur de lis. The ribbon is American Crafts and I added a little photo corner up top just for the fun of it. To finish off with pizazz, I painted on some sparkle with a mixture of diamond glaze and glitter.

I do have another card over on the Verve Blog today, along with my Divine Details write-up about my design process, so hop on over.

What's In It?
Stamps: Circular Sayings, Kindred Spirits (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Chocolate Chip (SU!), Tiffany's Collection (We R Memory Keepers)
Ink: Melonberry Mambo, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink (SU!)
Accessories: Fleur de lis border punch (EK Success), Curly Label and photo corner punch (SU!), striped ribbon (American Crafts), glitter, Diamond Glaze, sponge

Mojo Thanks

Welcome to another week! I'm refreshed from my vacation and ready to get back to the business of living! And since Monday's start off with a mojo sketch, that's what I have for you today. You can see the sketch and all the details for this month's contest over on the Mojo Monday blog. Yep, that's right... it's contest time again with a new sketch and prizes to be won!

Last week I got to stamp with Laurie, one of my favorite stampers. It was so much fun just hanging out, talking stamps and seeing how the magic happens. I took some mental notes to try once I got home, so this card is heavily influenced by Laurie's beautifully distressed style. I started by sponging the edges of the pink paper, distressing with my distressing tool, then matting on classic cream, also sponged and distressed. I just love the stitching Laurie adds to her cards, but my sewing machines would not cooperate, so I did the next best thing - faux stitching with my paper piercer and a chocolate chip marker.

I strayed a bit off sketch and my circle is behind my rectangle. Mark got me a Slice for my birthday and I hadn't had a chance to use it yet, so I was determined to use this label from the Studio Essentials cartridge. The orange and cream papers are sponged with first Tea Dye and then Vintage Photo distress ink. I stamped the greenery from Miracles Blossom, then the tulips in Tangerine Tango and Melonberry Mambo. I colored, trimmed out and popped up the tulips for some dimension, then added some sparkle with Diamond Stickles.

The larger circles are cut with Classic Nestabilities and embossed with the Textile embossing folder, before being sponged with Tea Dye and Vintage Photo. I wanted a sentiment, so I decided to add a little circular panel with the thanks sentiment from Circular Sayings. I accented it with a Martha Stewart butterfly punch all blinged out with Stickles. Then I finished off with some of the orange striped ribbon from SU! and a classic cream card base.

Well, I hope you have a fantastically creative Monday! Thanks for stopping by!

What's In It?
Stamps: Miracles Blossom, Circular Sayings (Verve)
Paper: Sunsplashed (We R Memory Keepers for Archiver's), Classic Cream (Neenah)
Ink: Melonberry Mambo, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip (SU!), Vintage Photo, Tea Dye (Ranger)

Hey all! Today is Verve's official 2 year anni-VERVE-sary and we're celebrating with a special blog hop! To kick it all off, I've got a little card over on the Verve Blog and then you're in for a morning of Verve-y goodness. There might even be a few little peeks of our upcoming sets along the way, and as with most things Verve... there's a prize up for grabs, too! So if you've got a little time, be sure to head on over for a hopping good time!

And for those of you wondering how I've been, I had an absolutely FABULOUS time over at Laurie's this past week! We even got in a little stamping here and there, so if you play your cards right, you just might see a card or two from me next week! {wink} Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
